Vice President Joe Biden recently made the most audacious statement most Americans have heard in 500 years by claiming that the Obama Administration's plan to kill Osama bin Laden was the most audacious decision in the past half a millenium.
Given everything that has happened in the last 500 years, (you know, like the founding of the United States of America), it’s a bit of an understatement to say that Glenn, Pat, and Stu slightly disagreed with the Vice President on his claim.
“It blows away the Normandy invasion,” Pat joked. “It blows away at Inchon when we stopped the Korean War the Korean invasion. Crossing the Delaware was nothing”
The mocking continued as they began listing some of the historic moments that have occurred in the last 500 year: NASA landing on the moon, Ponce D ’Leon discovering the Turks and Caicos Islands, D Day, and countless others.
“Think about what he’s saying here,” Stu said. “The most audacious plan in 500 years was the flip of a coin to kill Osama bin Laden.”
The flip of a coin is how sources that were with the President that night reported the decision was made. “It seems like the easiest decision of all time,” Stu added.
Glenn and Pat brought up the Battle of Normandy, and the countless lives that were lost there.
“Six thousand in a day or something? It was unbelievable slaughter,” Pat said.
Glenn added to Pat’s statement by pointing out that the soldiers all knew that they were probably not going to make it, but they kept going onto the beach, “wave after wave.”
Stu was sure to note that the work the Navy SEALS did killing bin Laden was incredible, but “to decide to send them there was an easy decision.”
Since 9/11 the plan of the United States Military has been to kill Osama bin Laden. “We made that decision ten years ago,” Pat said, adding, “That is the one thing he (Obama) inherited.”
It’s hard to imagine an easier decision for any President would have to make on a matter of national security, than one that was made for him ten years prior to being elected. Glenn pointed out that the destruction that President Obama has done to our economy and our debt in four years is a far more audacious plan, that the one Biden is telling Obama supporters.
“And completely reorganizing the perception of the capitalism, which has been the most successful economic system in the history of the world, and making it sound like it’s been a total abject failure. That’s pretty audacious.” Pat added
Glenn one-upped the Vice President's ridiculous statement with one more example, but this time by pointing out something that they are actually responsible for; “Having J.P. Morgan Chase close down the Vatican’s bank account—that’s audacious.”
