Starbucks is learning an important lesson. Despite every attempt at easing the progressives’ outrage following the recent arrest of two black men at a Philadelphia Starbucks, they simply can't win. Starbucks’ decision to close all locations on May 29 for “racial-bias training” has only led to further demands, deeper outrage.
And the mainstream media have baited it at every turn. The Washington Post, naturally, made the incident about police brutality: "Yes, we need to retrain Starbucks employees. But we also need to restrain the police."
The Huffington Post blamed white people, and even brandished a poll that somehow proves white people are out-of-touch. Before we cash in on a Huffington Post poll, just remember that HuffPo predicted Hillary Clinton would win the 2016 Presidential election with electoral votes by 98 percent, so their methodology is clearly in need of improvement.
Once again, progressives have made America out to be a festering, hate-filled KKK rally, funded by the patriarchy.

This shouldn’t be a story about race. It’s not a racial issue. Two people went into a business that has a “bathroom is for customers only” policy. They didn’t buy anything and were therefore not customers, but they still used the bathroom. Yet, the shrill progressives have stomped around, throwing tantrums, demanding things like a spoiled child. And like a spoiled child, nothing will ever be good enough for them.
The mayor of Philadelphia wrote a letter to the editor in the Philadelphia Inquirer, groveling in a plea for retribution. He uses the word “pain” every other sentence. Instead of standing up for his police, who were only doing their jobs, and who followed protocol --- there was no rude behavior. But that doesn’t matter.
No training, no apology, no public evisceration or self-flagellation will ever be good enough for this modern brand of Neo-Marxist Social Justice Warrior. They just don't stop being victims. Ever. And every time someone pays attention to them, every time someone caves, they grow a little stronger.
This calculated victimhood, however, is exactly what gives them their power.
This is textbook Neo-Marxism. By forcefully demanding that the SJWs, the Have-Nots --- aided by the mainstream media --- are powerless and that everyone else must shut up and do as they say, they are able to rise to the position of power that their entire ideology is hellbent on destroying. But, in doing so, they are able to become the Haves while enjoying the benefits of the Have Nots without taking any responsibility.
Marxist philosopher Slavoj Zizek has said the Left often dwells on past failures in order to “maintain a moralistic position” of powerlessness. This calculated victimhood, however, is exactly what gives them their power.
It is, in a word, ironic.
