Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke, who has his own podcast on TheBlaze Radio, joined The Glenn Beck Program on Monday to talk about the current state of affairs in Milwaukee and diagnose the real problem facing America's inner cities.
"It's the same ingredients that exist in a lot of urban centers, where you have the presence of the underclass. You have the ghetto, and you have pathologies associated with that. You have inescapable poverty. You have failing public schools. You have massive unemployment. You have a father absent in homes. You have questionable lifestyle behaviors," Clarke said.
Sheriff Clarke has called what happened Saturday in Milwaukee a social order collapse, with "tribal behavior" taking over and the law of the jungle replacing the rule of law. A straight shooter, Clarke doesn't mince words or kow tow to politically correct labels.

"How do we get past this point, David, where we're not worried about words anymore, we're actually worried about deeds and we're worried about how we heal this rift?" Glenn asked.
"I call things for what they are. And what has happened over time, as you know, is the left, this modern liberalism push, this progressive movement has tried to control the language. And they know they can control the narrative. They've tried to cleanse the narrative so that it's easier for unsuspecting people to deal with, right?" Clarke said.
Sheriff Clarke continued.
"We call it, what? Economically depressed area. No, it's a ghetto. And the people that live down there --- and my officers that are down there every day --- know it's a ghetto," Clarke said.
According to Clarke, the night before the shooting which sparked the violence, nine people were shot and four people were murdered in about a 24-hour period. Yet there were no protests or mainstream media coverage.
"What I'm trying to do is open people's eyes. And, you know, when I'm talking about opening people's eyes, I'm talking about my people, black people, who they'll figure this out if they get accurate information. The Democrats have in this progressive movement, have given them the impression that they're trying to help them. No, these people are keeping them strapped to the liberal plantation for votes at election time and for political power. They're being abused. They're being exploited. I think it's a sin that this stuff is going on. And so I'm going to say what it really is and not allow the left to control the language that I use," Clarke said.

"What do you expect to happen in Milwaukee here? What's going on?" Glenn asked.
"We've had some meetings this morning to critique what we did yesterday, what worked, what didn't, what can we do more of to, you know, quell this thing to where this thing just finally ends. And it may take a little while, but we're going to win this thing," Clarke said.
