Is he in or is he out? Best-selling author Brad Thor has floated the idea of a third party candidacy (egged on by a few conservative radio voices). Could #Thor2016 happen? Thor joined The Glenn Beck Program on Thursday with an update.
"Brad, I wanted to get you on because Stu is very excited. He's had butterflies in his stomach all morning," Glenn said.
Could Brad Thor have been the candidate Glenn's co-host Stu envisioned for his recent #Bailout2016 plan?

"Well, I mean, I was very interested. We're talking about major developments in the presidential campaign," Stu replied. "The proposal is to go through deep red states that Donald Trump, you know, will have without even showing up and campaigning one time, and run someone who is actually conservative to give us a third option, should the vote go to the House."
Donald Trump is not likely to do well in deep red states. Utah is one of the target states where Trump is within a few percentage points of Hillary, and a conservative candidate should be beating Hillary by a landslide in Utah.
"I used to live in Utah. I lived in Utah for eight years. I love Utah. I would crush Donald Trump in the state of Utah," Thor said.
"So, Brad, I have to know this because you were online last night, and you were making a big deal about running for president. I have to know, are you serious or not?" Glenn asked.
Thor posted this interesting message to Facebook on Wednesday, with his first "campaign commercial," a remix of Ronald Reagan's 'Yes, We Can' speech.
"I listened to the show yesterday, when you had Erick Erickson on, and while I think Stu's idea is fantastic and doesn't take votes away from Trump and it actually takes certain states out of play, I don't think you'd ever get the Congress to vote for anyone other than Hillary or Clinton. You couldn't even get a roll call vote for the rules at the RNC convention. I don't think they would decide it based on who's the third-party candidate," Thor said.
Our cowardly Republican Congress would not likely vote for a third party candidate. So where does that leave Thor?
"Libertarians are on 36 of the 50 state ballots. They're working on the last remaining ones. If we're really looking for an alternative, there's a lot not to like about Gary Johnson, but we're not going to get the perfect candidate because I'm not running," Thor confirmed.
"Wow. So you are officially copping out after getting everybody excited last night?" Stu asked. "I think I actually took you seriously, Brad. Are you saying you're playing with our hearts?" Stu asked.
It turns out #Thor2016 was just a pipe dream.
