In what is frighteningly becoming routine, Monday's news was once again dominated by stories of a tragic weekend. It started with the ISIS attack in Nice, France. Then, there was an attempted coup in Turkey. Finally, and the nation awoke to learn three officers had been shot and killed in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Monday on The Glenn Beck Program, Glenn opened the show reading a haunting Facebook post one of the slain officers posted only two weeks before he was gunned down:
I'm tired physically and emotionally. Disappointed at some family and friends and officers for some reckless comments. But, hey, what's in your heart is in your heart. I still love you all because take hate -- hate takes too much energy, and I definitely won't be looking at you the same. Thank you to everyone who has reached out to me or my wife. It was needed and much appreciated. I swear to God I love this city, but I wonder now if this city loves me. In uniform, I get nasty, hateful looks, and out of uniform, some consider me a threat. I've experienced so much in my short life, and these last three days have tested me to the core. When people you know begin to question your integrity, you realize, they don't really know you at all. Look at my actions. They speak loud and clear. Finally, I personally want to send prayers out to everyone directly affected by all of the police shootings. These are trying times. Please, don't let hate infect your heart. This city must and will get better. I'm working in these streets so any protester, any officer, any friends, family -- whoever -- if you see me and need a hug or just want to say a quick prayer, I got you."
The media narrative didn't fit with this shooting because the officer was black, but Glenn dug deeper into who the shooter was.
"Two weeks later, he was executed," Glenn said. "This has nothing to do with Black Lives Matter, because he's a black life. He's a black man. Does his life not matter? This was Nation of Islam."
Glenn reminded listeners the Nation of Islam was responsible for the killing of Malcolm X. Unrest breeds fear and when people are afraid, there are some radical ideas come to the forefront --- and this was on display this weekend.
"I don't know if anybody noticed, but there was talk --- serious talk --- on television about martial law in America. We haven't even hit the tough times yet, gang," Glenn said. "They're talking in Cleveland today, chief of police who says, 'I'm an NRA member. I'm a gun guy. I'm a Second Amendment guy, but can't we just suspend this concealed weapons permit just for a while?'"
Suspending the second amendment is never a good idea and this example just goes to show politicians often miss the mark on these issues. President Obama barely paid lip service to the fallen police officers while glorifying the 'Black Lives Matter' movement and those who were shot by police.
This was not lost on the president of the Cleveland Police Association, who came out with the following statement:
The president of the United States validated the false narrative and the nonsense that Black Lives Matter and the media are pressing out there to the public, validated with his very divisive statements, and now we see an escalation. This has gotten too bad. We need some leadership in this country to come forward and put an end to this. I don't care if it's clergy. I don't care who it is. But somebody has to step up and put an end to it. Because it's a false narrative and very influential people that are politicizing the false narrative. Absolutely insane that we have a president of the United States and a governor of Minnesota making the statements that they've made less than one day after those police-involved shootings. And those police-involved shootings, make no mistake, are what absolutely has triggered this brash of senseless murders of law enforcement officers across this country. And it is reprehensible that the president of the United States has blood on his hands, and it will not be able to come washed off.
Obama may have blood on his hands, but one person has fingerprints all over this rash of police shootings --- Louis Farrakahn.
"In the 1960s, that's what they were doing. In the Summer of Rage, that's what [Farrakahn] was preaching," Glenn said. "'Now is the time. Rise up. Kill them.' He's doing the same thing now. 'Rise up, and kill them.' We have asked for how many years, 'Where is the press on him?' He is fomenting hatred."
It is beginning to look a lot like the summer of 1968.

"When is anybody going to recognize that assassinations are happening right now? And those assassinations are only going to get worse. They are going to get worse," Glenn said. "They are going to spread from cops, I believe, to media figures and also to public officials."
