Audio surfaced recently that could spell trouble for Donald Trump in a general election. What's the latest to come out of The Donald's mouth? His delicate stance on the role of women and changing diapers.
"No, I don't do it. It's not my thing," Trump said. "You know what, I'm a good father, but that's not my thing. No, but some women -- there are a lot of women out there that, you know, demand that the husband acts like the wife."
Naturally, when Sen. Ted Cruz called in to The Glenn Beck Program on Tuesday, Glenn's curiosity got the better of him about whether or not Cruz had ever changed a diaper.
"It's a parent's job. I can tell you with our girls, I changed a lot of diapers," Cruz said. "When a diaper needs changing, whoever is closest jumps on the grenade, so to speak."
Evidently, Trump considers diaper changing to be woman's work.
Switching topics to potential vice presidential candidates, Cruz addressed the swirling rumors that he's on the verge of naming Carly Fiorina as his running mate.
"There's always speculation in this process. It is true that we have begun seriously the process of vetting potential vice presidential candidates," Cruz said.
"So I don't want to influence your thinking at all. I just want to make sure. So you're not going to announce her name this week?" Glenn asked with the emphasis on her.
"As I said, no decision has been made. We're in the process of vetting. And, Glenn, listen, just to comfort your concerns, you are still very much in the mix on that process," Cruz said.
Cruz also addressed Trump's assertion that the recently announced strategic partnership with John Kasich is collusion.
"What Donald Trump calls collusion is actually called building coalitions," Cruz said. "It's how you succeed in politics. To win, you've got to get a majority. You've got to get over 50 percent. That's something Donald can't do. He can't get a majority, so he's very, very confused."
That all may be true, but Trump is looking very strong in today's primaries. While Cruz has a tough challenge in the states that vote today, he made one last pitch to supporters.
"Let me encourage you if you're in Pennsylvania, if you're in Maryland, if you're in Delaware, if you're in Rhode Island or Connecticut. If you're listening to Glenn Beck, you are a principled patriot, an American, a conservative. I ask you, please come out and vote," Cruz said. "The media believes every one of your states are suburbs of New York City and because Manhattan has spoken, you must follow them. I ask conservatives, come out and surprise the media."
