Think the Affordable Car Act (aka Obamacare) is destroying individual liberty? Find it outrageous that the United States government has handed over a massive portion of the economy to be run by the IRS? Are you under the impression that the individual mandate is completely unconstitutional (despite what Chief Justice Roberts said)?
Well, if you believe the Constitution should be followed the way the founders intended, have no fear, Nancy Pelosi is about to make you feel MUCH better.
Okay, not really. In fact, we're going to take a moment to issue a "duct tape warning" because this may make your head explode.
Seriously, it's bad, proceed with caution…
In a recent statement, Nancy Pelosi explained that Obamacare is a dream come true.
That's nothing new — but here's why...
It fulfills the promise of the founders.
"So this is awful in terms of the government being closed, but now we are in the third day of the implementation of the Affordable Care Act, a dream come true for many people in our country that they can fully realize the promise of our founders of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, healthier life, liberty to pursue their happiness."
"Healthier life"? When did the founders talk about that?
"It's the liberty to be forced into purchasing a plan that will make you an illegal citizen if you don't purchase? That's the liberty?" Pat questioned rhetorically. "That's what our founders envisioned?"
"Well, yeah, our founders ‑‑ well, they were slave owners and they enjoyed slavery," Glenn responded sarcastically, pointing out the hypocrisy of the view Democrats seem to hold of the founders.
One second the Democrats what the country to "progress" past the founders and the Constitution or falsely paint them all as slave-owners, the next they're cherry-picking their writings to use them (falsely) for their own arguments.
Glenn continued to mock Nancy's statement, "well, they believed in it so much, that's why when they had the opportunity to do it, Ben Franklin went out and raised private money to build the first hospital — wait a minute. Hold it."
That hardly fits the Democrats agenda, try again.
"I was mistaken there for a second," Glenn continued. "He believed in the government's responsibility so much, that's why he organized the first volunteer fire department. Wait a minute…"
Nope, that's not going to work either.
Sorry Nancy, stick to your talking points — the ones that at least kind of make sense.
