"I'm not a guy that endorses anybody. I will tell you what I think, but I think I'm going to put together a list because I've met several people that I think we need to send to Congress and I would like you to know them. I'm not endorsing them. I have met with each of them. I think they get it," Glenn said on radio today.
Glenn said he doesn't endorse people because 1) people should be making up their own mind and not listening to others and 2) it's hard to get to know someone well enough for Glenn to make that kind of statement of support in a short meeting.
"You just never know about people. You just never know, you know, and you send them into Washington. God only knows," he said.
Nevertheless, there are some good people he wanted to mention:
Ted Cruz - Republican candidate in 2012 for U.S. Senator from Texas."I want to give you some names of some people that I've met with that I think are very good. One of them is Ted Cruz in Texas. If you're in Texas and you can help Ted Cruz, help Ted Cruz."
Mark Neumann - Republican candidate in 2012 for U.S. Senator from Wisconsin
"Mark Neumann in Wisconsin, here's a guy who stood up to Newt Gingrich back when Newt Gingrich was in Congress. I think Mark served for temporarily there for awhile. He was on some committees and Newt Gingrich said, Don't you dare vote against me or you'll be off every committee and he voted against him and Newt threw him off of every committee and that night, instead of wallowing in it, he wrote a letter to every member of Congress and said, My only regret is I wasn't on more committees to be thrown off of. I wish I had more committees so I could have been thrown off them so everyone could have seen you stand up for what you believe in and that was the end of his career. He's trying to run again and I believe this guy gets it."
Chris Stewart - Utah's 2nd Congressional District.
"Chris Stewart in Utah is a very good friend of mine and one of the most stand-up guys I've ever met. "
"He is a guy that I met about two years ago and I've been trying to hire him. He's a great writer and he's -- he holds the flight record for the Air Force fastest around the world flight for the Air Force. This guy is stand-up, buttoned up, nothing's coming through Chris. He's the guy I don't want to go to Washington because I just -- I love my friend. And I also would like him to work for me."
Daniel Bongino - Republican candidate for the U.S. Senate from Maryland.
"Really great guy. This guy was a secret service agent, left the secret service because he started -- he was in the White House. I mean, he was there and he's watching television and he realizes, man, this is the first guy I've seen that makes any sense. He had kind of gone dead and realized that he hadn't heard anybody tell a bit of truth in a long time and decided that he was going to go back to college. He went back to college, got his economics degree, quit, and decided he was going to -- he was going to run for office to make it. Great guy."
Dan Liljenquist - Republican candidate in 2012 for U.S. Senator from Utah.*
"Dan Liljenquist is a guy who I think really gets it," Glenn said.
Jeff Flake - Arizona's 6th congressional district. Republican party.
After going over some of the candidates he had met and liked, he said, "I'll continue to meet with people and I'll pass it to you. What you do with that information is up to you."
*Glenn did made a point to say that while he likes Orrin Hatch and feels like he has done good work in Utah in the past, he feels like Dan Liljenquist is prepared to face challenges facing the country.
