Most of the 2016 presidential candidates have joined The Glenn Beck Program to discuss their policy ideas and campaign platforms. Constitution Party candidate Darrell Castle added to that list on Wednesday when he spoke with Glenn on radio.
"Pat and Stu have already talked to him on his show. I have not met or talked to him. I'm looking at a briefing about all of his stats and everything else. I see that he's a Calvinist. I don't know what that means exactly, religiously, but I do hope that it means he's a fan of Calvin Coolidge," Glenn said, welcoming Castle to the program.
Castle hails from a small farm in the hills of East Tennessee.
"That's where I was born, in 1948, which makes me 67 years old. And since I was born in Tennessee, that means that I am a natural-born citizen, more than 35 years old," Castle joked.
A lawyer by trade, Castle is deeply concerned about the direction of our country.
"One of the reasons I'm in this campaign is that America has separated itself from the rule of law and from the Constitution. And it's in danger of cutting government adrift. It's given government so much authority and power to ignore the Constitution," Castle said.
The candidate then gave a quick tutorial on the Constitution Party and how it was formed.
"The Constitution Party is a party that was recently formed under the idea that Democrats and Republicans were never going to take us where we thought the country needed to go. And it was formed on the idea that the original intent of the Founders was still relevant today and could be defended intellectually to the nation," Castle said.
