Where can you learn 49 things you don't say to your plumber and read about corruption at the highest levels of government? BuzzFeed, of all places, has developed a powerful model of mixing hard-hitting news and pop culture fodder for a new generation of online viewers.
"I don't know how the election's going to turn out, but I can tell you that we can now call it that BuzzFeed has won the election. They have broken almost every significant story about this election since it began," Co-host Stu Burguiere said Wednesday on The Glenn Beck Program.
"Can I tell you something, they have done an amazing job. BuzzFeed, this is new media," Glenn said.
"It's incredible," Stu echoed.
A story published today outlining Trump's campaign manager, Paul Manafort, as the orchestrator of pro-Russian, anti-NATO rallies that laid the groundwork for the takeover of Crimea.
"This is Russia stealing part of another country, and the guy who is running the Trump campaign up until today was one of the guys laying the groundwork for this to happen," Stu said.
Trump recently created a firestorm when speaking out against NATO, suggesting the United States lessen it's roll the military alliance.
BuzzFeed also broke a story in 2014 about pro-Russian forces are paying people at Breitbart to write positive stories during the Ukrainian and Russian conflict.
"They're getting $500 checks to write stories that are positive for the Russian, including pulling quotes from emails from the pro-Russian people, pulling quotes from them and just putting them in stories," Stu reported.
"Can you even imagine if we found out that ABC News was doing that? Can you imagine what we would all be saying?" Glenn asked. "And those people who support Donald Trump will avert their eyes. I'm telling you, we are in massive trouble if this guy gets into office."
Amazingly, BuzzFeed has broken much of the news about the corruption surrounding Trump and his ties with Breitbart and Russia.
"I can't get over the fact that it appears on the same site as 17 Wondrous Things That Will Make Life With Boobs Easier. It's mind-boggling," Co-host Pat Gray added.
Evidently, it's a smart strategy that works like crazy.
"Any news source that is taking down Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton and talking about how dangerous both of these guys are, you can trust them," Glenn said. "I don't think left and right matters anymore. The truth is the only thing that matters."
