After taking calls from two Ron Paul callers today, Glenn decided to explain a little more what he thought of Ron Paul and the issues.
“Here's my stance on Ron Paul: I think he's absolutely dead right on everything financially. I think he is so right. He's the only run who would actually close the Fed. He's the only one who would actually take it on. He's the only one that has fiat currency right. He's the only one who's fearless on that. That's huge,” Glenn said.
“I disagree because he's the only one that says things like this about the Middle East.”
Glenn then played this audio from Ron Paul: “Have you ever read about the reasons they attacked us, they attack us? Because we've been over there. We've been bombing Iraq for ten years.”
“We did not bomb Iraq for ten years. We enforced a no‑fly zone, yes. They fired at us and when that happened, we usually, not always, but we usually fired back,” Pat explained.
“But this isn't even a big part of it. That's such an important point but that's not even the big part,” Glenn said.
Glenn explained that Osama bin Laden has said (paraphrased) that in OBL opinion and the opinion of sunscribers of Radicalized Islam, every person must either submit, live under the scrutiny of Islam, or die. Period.
“When they talk to the Western media, they say the things Ron Paul quotes. When they say it to their own people, they say this,” Stu said in reference to the radical statement of OBL.
“It is a total, it is a total naivety at best, at best, from the Ron Paulians and people on the left as well say the same damn thing. They do not think like people from the Middle East. They don't understand the Middle East mentality. They are looking at it as a Westerner,” Glenn said.
“I'm sorry, but you cannot sit down with somebody who says the matter is clear. It is not right to let an infidel live. The matter is summed up for every person alive: Either submit or live under the scrutiny of Islam or die. Excuse me, but we don't have anything to talk about. None.”
“We don't coexist with people who believe that. If they strike, you strike them back. You protect yourself. You protect your friends. Because it is in the national interest,” Glenn said.
